OnlyPrompt
Voice-Synced Teleprompter for macOS
OnlyPrompt is a teleprompter app for macOS that automatically scrolls your script in sync with your voice — using on-device speech recognition. No cloud required for core features.
What OnlyPrompt Does
OnlyPrompt helps presenters, streamers, and video creators read their scripts naturally. The app listens to your voice and moves the script in real time — no foot pedal required, though one is supported.
- Voice-Synced Scroll — On-device speech recognition matches your spoken words to the script and adjusts scroll position automatically.
- Manual & Auto Scroll — Switch between timer-based auto-scroll and voice-sync at any time. Speed and direction are fully adjustable.
- iOS Remote Control — The companion OnlyPrompt Remote app for iPhone and iPad lets you control the teleprompter over your local network.
- YouTube Live Chat — Connect your YouTube account to display live chat messages from your stream directly inside the app while you read.
YouTube Integration & Google Data
OnlyPrompt optionally integrates with YouTube API Services so you can see your live stream's chat messages without switching windows. This requires signing in with your Google account via standard OAuth 2.0. It is entirely optional — the teleprompter works fully without it.
What OnlyPrompt requests from your Google account:
- Read access to your YouTube live broadcasts (
youtube.readonly) - Read access to your YouTube live chat messages (
youtube.force-ssl)
What OnlyPrompt does NOT do:
- Does not store, copy, or forward your YouTube data to any server
- Does not collect personal data or analytics
- Does not transmit authentication tokens outside your device
- Does not make changes to your YouTube account or streams
OnlyPrompt's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Privacy
OnlyPrompt does not collect, store, or transmit personal data. All speech recognition runs on-device using an offline model. User preferences are stored locally on your Mac.
